Furlough Scheme - Latest Deadlines & Information
Submissions for January furlough claims can now be made. The deadline for claims is Monday 15 February.
If possible, it is best to submit claims once you are sure of the exact number of hours employees will be working to prevent having to amend your claim later on. However, you can make a claim before, during or after you process your payroll.
Although the deadline for December furlough claims ended on the 14 January, you may still be able to make a claim if you have a reasonable excuse for not claiming before the deadline such as an unexpected stay in hospital or if you were self-isolating. To find out more, click here.
If you have already submitted your claims for December but need to make a change because you didn’t claim enough, you can do this until Thursday 28 January.

- Submit any claims for January no later than Monday 15 February.

Furloughing with caring responsibilities
Employees who are caring for children who are at home due to school and childcare closures or who have other caring responsibilities due to coronavirus can also be furloughed – either full or part-time.
HMRC to publish details of claims to prevent fraud
From 26 January, HMRC will be publishing a list of employers who have claimed under the job retention scheme from 1 December 2020 onwards along with an indication of the value of the claims. You can request for your details not to be published if you think that this would result in a serious risk of violence or intimidation to individuals.
Employees will be able to check if you have made a claim on their behalf through their online Personal Tax Account from February onwards.
